A Delegation From QMUL Visited NCU for Graduation Ceremony and Further Collaboration

This year is the 10th anniversary of the Joint Programme of Clinical Medicine/ Biomedical Sciences between Nanchang University (NCU) and Queen Mary University of London (QMUL). On June 21st, the Joint Programme successfully held a graduation ceremony for the graduates of the 2018 cohort and more than 500 people join the event including students and their parents, faculty representatives as well as staff members of both universities.


Prior to the graduation ceremony, a cordial and fruitful meeting was held between the senior members of the two universities headed by NCU President Chen Yeguang and QMUL Principal Colin Bailey. The two sides summarized the cooperation experience and discussed the significance of the Joint Programme.  Additionally, they explored potential avenues for further collaboration and expansion of the Joint Program. NCU Vice-President Liu Yaobin and QMUL Vice-Principal Wen Wang were also present at the meeting.

Principal Colin Bailey, along with his delegation, also had a talk with the excellent graduates of the class of 2023 in the Joint Program.


The graduates described their experiences and achievements in the studies for their double degrees of clinical medicine and biomedical sciences, sharing their future development plan. Principal Colin Bailey expressed his congratulations to the graduates for their impressive accomplishments and their decision to delve further into the medical field. Vice-Principal Wen Wang stated that both NCU and QMUL are prestigious institutions, with top-notch faculty and cutting-edge educational models. Meanwhile, leaders and faculties from both sides exchanged opinions and answered questions raised by the graduates. In the end, QMUL delegates toured our laboratory facilities, QMUL office, smart interactive classrooms, and viewed the 10th anniversary achievements exhibition of the Joint Programme.

The brilliant achievements of the 2018 cohort underscore a new phase of joint efforts for the high-quality collaboration between NCU and QMUL. Moving forward, both universities will continue to deepen their high-level cooperation on the programme for further enhancing its education quality to cultivate more medical talents with international perspective for the society.
