News | QM Student Wins the 2024 "Nanchang University · JCC Star" Outstanding Student Scholarship

The 2024 "Nanchang University · JCC Star" election recently concluded with great success. After a hard-fought competition through school nominations, material evaluations, and live assessments, Yuxin Liu stood out among many outstanding candidates. Both her remarkable achievement and her moral character, academic performance, and scientific exploration shone brightly, while her exceptional performance in the oral defense received unanimous praise from the committee. She was subsequently awarded the 2024 "Nanchang University · JCC Star" Outstanding Student Scholarship.

"Nanchang University · JCC Star" Scholarship is a joint initiative by Nanchang University and Jiangxi Copper Corporation Limited, designed to recognize and reward sophomore or above level students who excel in academic performance, social practice, innovation, and overall quality. Yuxin Liu's achievement has not only affirmed her personal efforts but also highlights the outstanding results of talent cultivation and academic excellence at Queen Mary School, Nanchang University.

Yuxin Liu expressed her gratitude to all the people who supported her in this election. "I’m truly grateful,” began Liu, “to the school leadership, teachers, and classmates for their support, and a special shoutout to the six friends in my cheering squad who were there in person—their encouragement gave me a huge confidence boost. The school's unique education model, which integrates clinical practice with research, has provided me with a solid academic foundation and boundless courage, enabling me to achieve remarkable results in international academic conferences and competitions. Looking ahead, I will continue to strive, showcasing myself on broader stages, giving back to the school alongside my talented peers, and setting an example for students in grades behind by sharing my experiences and inspiration."

Yuxin Liu has now admitted to the Reproductive Endocrinology Ph.D. Program at Peking University Third Affiliated Hospital and recipient for 2025-2026 Merit Talent Postgraduate Scholarship from Peking University Health Science Center. Moreover, she’s been honoured with the Gold Medal in the China International College Students’ Innovation Competition 2022, the 2022–2023 National Scholarship, and the Pacemaker to Merit Student title for three years. Six SCI papers were published, with five as first or co-first authors during her schooling. She was also the only undergraduate student invited for an oral conference presentation at an international academic event. She was also awarded CLS-CIBR-IDG Training Best Individual, Provincial Outstanding Volunteer, among many other awards and honors.
