Mr. Yanbing Ma, a student of Queen Mary School, was awarded the Honorary Title of "The Most Beautiful College Student" of NCU

On the evening of March 27, the activity of selecting "The Most Beautiful College Student" of Nanchang University came to a successful end. After the fierce competition consisting of college recommendation, community demonstration, online voting, material evaluation and on-site evaluation. Mr. Yanbing Ma of our school stood out among many competitors with the achievement of "double first" in on-site defense and online voting, and was awarded the honorary title of "The Most Beautiful College Student" of Nanchang University 2024, and "The Best Popularity Award" of "The Most Beautiful College Student" selection activity of Nanchang University 2024, which created a new record in the history of our school. It is also the fifth time for the students from our school to win the honorary title of "The Most Beautiful College Student" of Nanchang University.

Yanbing demonstrated the spirit of the outstanding student of Queen Mary School from the aspects of diligence and advancement, study the nature of things and innovation, moral cultivation, and comprehensive self-development. Afterwards, Professor Zhijun Luo made a recommendation speech, saying that Yanbing is an excellent example of Queen Mary’s innovative medical education reform achievements.

A 2019 cohort student, accepted to the PhD programme in cardiothoracic surgery by Fu Wai Hospital of Peking Union Medical College, National Gold Medal Winner of the 7th and 8th China International College Students’ “Internet+" Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, and Recipient of National Scholarship for the academic year 2022-2023, Taihao Star Outstanding College Student Scholarship for 2022 and Grand Prize Scholarship of the University for three consecutive years. He has been honored with the titles of "Pioneer of the Merit Students" and "Outstanding Communist Youth League Member". During his studies at University, he has published three SCI papers (including one as co-first author).

Mr. Yanbing Ma expressed his thanks for the support from the teachers of the school and his peer students, especially Professor Luo for making a recommendation speech, head of the school student counselors, Mr. Dehua Duan, Mr. Hui Liu, his counselor, and other teachers for their guidance, and the most powerful cheerleaders for their cheering at the scene. In his remarks, he said, “the brilliant achievements of the school are the backbone of our confident performance on the stage, I will strive to make some achievements on a higher platform in the future, together with the outstanding students of Queen Mary School, to give back for the cultivation and support for us. At the same time, I will also pass on the spirit of unity, cooperation, mutual help and courage to fight to other peer students."
