Prof. Ansgar Poetsch

Personal Profile

Prof. Dr. Ansgar Poetsch, Principal Investigator, Scientific Director of the Proteomics and Metabolomics Center.

Prof. Dr. Ansgar Poetsch got his Ph.D. (1999) in Biophysical Chemistry from the Technical University of Darmstadt, Germany. From 1999 to 2001, he did postdoctoral research at the University of British Columbia, followed by further postdoctoral research at the University of Ulm, Germany. After postdoctoral training, he took positions as Associate Professor at Ruhr University Bochum, Germany and the University of Plymouth, UK.

His research interests include Proteomics, Microbiology, Bioinformatics, Metabolomics.

Prof. Dr. Poetsch has presided over 14 funded projects in Germany and China. He received the President's Award of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Young Scientist Award of the Human Proteome Organization of Natural Sciences, the Fellow of Higher Education Institute of the British Higher Education Academy, and the Young Research Team Award of the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research.
