Celebration of the 100th Anniversary of Nanchang University

Principals Online Conference between Nanchang University and Queen Mary University of London

To celebrate the 100^th anniversary of Nanchang University (NCU), principals conference was held online in the conference room of Queen Mary School on the afternoon of April 30. Attendees from NCU included Professor ZHOU Chuangbing, President; Professor DENG Xiaohua, Vice President; LIU Yaobin, Vice President, Professor LUO Shiwen, Acting Dean of Medical College, and Professor LUO Zhijun, Dean of Queen Mary School. Attendees from Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) included Professor Colin Bailey, Principal and President; Professor Wen Wang, Vice President, Professor Colin Grant, Vice President; Professor Richard Pickersgill, Head of School of Biological and Behavioural Sciences, Professor Mark Maconochie, Co-director of the Joint Programme between NCU and QMUL and other colleagues.

Principal Bailey conveyed congratulations to President ZHOU, praised magnificent history of NCU in research and education, and looked to further collaboration between the two universities. President Zhou gave a acknowledge speech and reaffirmed endeavor of cooperation in education and research.  Next, VP Wang, VP Grant and VP Deng each gave short talk.  The leaders from both universities reviewed achievements of the joint programme in teaching and student growth. The two universities have always adhered to the purpose of improving human well-being and serving people's health. The joint programme has benefited from a pragmatic and high-efficient cooperation team, a solid foundation and broad prospects. All agreed that there are more rooms of cooperation to explore beyond the existing programme, which will build up strong universities and make contribution to education globalization and world civilization.
